HOMECOMING

The Israeli designer envisions a multi-planetary lifestyle future. Nevi Pana stages this change of perspective in his installation “Homecoming” by means of a water basin symbolizing the Earth, a landing pad for imaginary spaceships, and a flag as a symbol of world unit. He explores how materials form and behave under ever-changing environmental factors by looking at things from a great distance. New attitudes toward Earth will form and will become a home base we can always come back to. Humanity will develop new profound types of enlightenment, ultimately taking us to a mindful living of higher consciousness and urging us to treat our mother planet with care. In his work, Nevi Pana (re)creates a ‘system’ with a holistic view of one unit that sustains itself – using rich, natural, fantastic materials in their basic forms, and relying on natural phenomena like magma formation, crystallization, and gravitation. A stool is placed next to the pool, for the one who is waiting for your homecoming.
